Las Vegas might not be the first place that springs to mind when it comes to booking a babymoon, but if you are planning a trip to Vegas while pregnant, I think you’ll be surprised at how much you can do.
My husband had to fly to Vegas for a conference when I was 17 weeks pregnant and rather than staying at home with FOMO I decided to join him. While he networked away at workshops and client drinks, I treated myself to shows, shopping, sightseeing and pregnancy pampering days. I think I got the better deal.
For anyone else visiting Vegas during pregnancy, here are the best things you can indulge in.

Things to do in Vegas when pregnant
See a show
While late nights at the casinos and nightclubs might be off the tables for some pregnant women, the world-class shows are most certainly not.
On our Vegas babymoon I took myself for a solo date to see Mariah Carey at Caesars Palace and had a wonderful evening. I booked a seat on the end of a row, just to make sure I wasn’t stuck in the middle of any rowdy groups and could easily duck out to the loo when I needed to.
My husband and I also went to see “O™” by Cirque du Soleil® at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino and, despite thinking Cirque might not be my cup of tea, I was completely blown away. (Or splashed away, to be more accurate about it!)
The Cirque du Soleil shows in Las Vegas are just extraordinary works of acrobatic entertainment and I recommend everyone add at least one to their Vegas itinerary.
You can check out the Visit Las Vegas website for a list of what’s on and when.
Ride The High Roller at The LINQ
A great way to take in the Las Vegas sights with little exertion is via the High Roller big wheel at The LINQ, which soars above the Strip on a 30-minute revolution.
You hardly feel it moving but certainly get some fantastic views, especially once the sun has set.
Drive to Seven Magic Mountains
If the crowds and casino sounds of the Las Vegas Strip start to get a bit much, hire a car and take a short drive to something unique just outside the city.
Seven Magic Mountains is an outdoor art installation by Ugo Rondinone, which was originally intended to be a temporary display but has been extended due to its popularity. Consisting of seven rainbow-coloured towers of boulders, standing more than 30 feet high, it’s an eye-catching sight springing out of the vast Nevada desert.
It’s free to visit but beware there is nothing else out there, apart from maybe one refreshments van in the car park if you’re lucky, so you may want to pack your own provisions. The nearest toilets are approximately five miles from the artwork, at Jean.
Tour the Neon Museum
One of the coolest things to do in Las Vegas (if you ask me) is to walk through Strip history at the Neon Museum. Tours of The Neon Boneyard explain the historical significance behind the rescued signs and the businesses they belonged to.
It’s a really quirky way to learn about Las Vegas history and the personalities that shaped it. Plus, it’s a really funky place for a photoshoot if you want some snaps to remember your babymoon.
Take a wander around Downtown Las Vegas afterwards to spot more retro restored signs dazzling on the corners, and walk through the Fremont Street Experience after 6pm to enjoy one of the free Viva Vision light shows.
Grand Canyon Helicopter Tour
For a Vegas experience to remember forever, book yourself a helicopter tour of the Las Vegas Strip and Grand Canyon*. We did one of these on a previous Vegas visit in 2014, and it really highlights the contrasts in the landscape, from the high-rise hotels on the Strip, to the expansive blue of Lake Mead and craggy red rock of the Canyon.
You can get a glimpse of the Grand Canyon and be back in Vegas for brunch with a helicopter tour, but if you’d like to spend a little more time on the ground you may want to consider a Grand Canyon day tour by coach instead.
Many itineraries include a stop at the Hoover Dam and have the option to add on the Grand Canyon Skywalk, a stomach-churning glass walkway that juts over the Canyon and lets you float 4000 feet above the Canyon floor.
*You may need to check with your doctor.
Red Rock Canyon
For a less vertigo-inducing Canyon experience, you can take a drive to Red Rock Canyon and enjoy it’s 13-mile one-way drive through a Mars-like landscape.
If you’re feeling more active, there are 26 numbered hikes and trails to explore, which can offer some much-needed fresh air and exercise after being in the casinos.
Discount & Designer Shopping
I visited Vegas during August when it felt exceedingly hot outside, but the air conditioning of the shopping malls and Strip hotels was very welcoming.
Head to The Venetian Resort for a fantastically bizarre shopping experience alongside the ‘Venice’ canals, where you can even take a gondola ride. Then, keep on walking into The Palazzo for some of the most upscale boutiques in the world.
Over the road you’ll find some more affordable American and international brands at the Fashion Show shopping mall and, for some designer bargains, hop in a taxi to one of Vegas’ two Premium Outlets.
(I prefer the shopping experience at Las Vegas North Premium Outlet near Downtown but it’s mostly outdoor so you might want to head to the South Premium Outlet if you need to escape the heat.)
Pregnancy massage and pampering
To ease out any aches and pains from the flight over (or was it the shopping?!), treat yourself to a pregnancy massage at a high-end hotel spa. I booked one at the MGM Grand Spa as that’s where we were staying, and I didn’t fancy travelling any further. Although I couldn’t use the sauna and steam room I enjoyed relaxing in the lounge before blissing out on the massage table, which had a handy hole in it that you pop your bump in.

Another wonderful treat during pregnancy is to let someone else style your hair for you, which is why I made a couple of visits to The DryBar at Fashion Mall while in Vegas.
These salons, dedicated to the art of blow drying, have a catalogue of styles you can choose from. They have complimentary drinks and movies on the screen in front of you, and you walk out not only perfectly coiffed but feeling great too.
Visit the 24-hour Cupcake ATM
You need not worry about any late-night pregnancy cravings in Vegas as this is one city that’s got your girl covered!
I have no regrets about my visit to the Sprinkles 24-hour cupcake ATM at The LINQ. I may also have popped into In-And-Out Burger next door while I was at it!
Where to stay in Las Vegas
Our favourite hotel to stay on the Las Vegas Strip is Aria Resort and Casino. It offers chic, modern rooms with giant beds, has a gorgeous spa with private pol and is well positioned in the centre of Las Vegas Boulevard.
There’s a Las Vegas hotel to suit everyone though so shop around for deals.
Car Hire in Las Vegas
Most of the Las Vegas Strip hotels have car hire desks in their lobby and a selection of cars you can pre-book for pick up from the hotel car park. Search and compare for car hire deals on booking.com.
