Ever since I discovered Shea McGee’s signature interiors style I’ve been obsessed with it. I’d always struggled to define my transitional taste in home decor until I watched Dream Home Makeover and realised all the things I liked could work together with a little Studio McGee magic.
So, imagine my joy to discover the McGee & Co homewares range, swiftly followed by utter heartbreak when I learned they don’t ship to the UK. (Honestly, when they announced their affordable collaboration with Target I thought I might have to relocate to America.)
Once I’d pieced my heart together (and, ok, pleaded in DMs to McGee & Co to start selling over here) I became determined to find furniture, homewares, art and accessories in the UK that gave somewhat of a Studio McGee look.
My favourite aspect of Studio McGee designs is how they blend modern with traditional, adding a dash of vintage style and natural rustic elements, so I’ve been scouring the internet for the best places to buy these kind of homewares in the UK.
I’ll keep adding to this list as and when I discover new stores, but for now, here are the places I shop to achieve a Studio McGee style in my new build English home.

Update: I’ve found a way to ship US homewares (including McGee & Co and Shoppe Amber Interiors) to the UK affordably! Read all about it HERE.
How to get the Studio McGee look in the UK
Modern Rustic Homewares Stores You Need To Know
Home Barn
I’m lucky to live within driving distance of this spacious historic barn filled with antique furniture and modern rustic homewares. My versatile vintage elm milking stool (used as a lamp table above) was purchased from Home Barn, as are a few antique pots and vases you’ll find on our shelves.
Right now, I’ve got my eye on a vintage french cabinet on their website, as well as a number of antique urns, Chinese preserve pots and a few pieces of African pottery. If you can make it down to the store it’s a joy to browse, plus a coffee shop recently opened next door so you can make a real outing of it!
A couple of other places I recommend for vintage pots/urns and one-off decorative items are:
Lots Of Pots Gatwick (often found at Sunbury Antiques Market)
Home At First Sight
I’ve been both a customer and hardcore fan of Home At First Sight since the day they launched. Offering a well curated collection of both vintage finds and modern rustic decor, there’s at least one accent piece from Home At First Sight on every surface in our home. I particularly like Monika’s selection of rustic bowls, trays and pedestals that are perfect for elevating and layering with vintage pieces.
Home A First Sight also recently launched a bespoke homewares service where they can source or custom make almost any piece of modern rustic furniture you desire. I had this rustic console table made to the exact measurements to suit my hallway. It came out absolutely beautifully and I love that there is not another one exactly like it on the market!
Find out more about Home At First Sight’s sourcing and bespoke services here.
House Of Neutrals
THE place to shop for the best quality block printed cushion covers in the UK is House of Neutrals. When this small business launched on Instagram last year I felt like all my sofa styling prayers were answered.
From Eisha to Kiaan and Mai, all my current favourite cushions covers come from House of Neutrals and as they launch new collections seasonally I can’t wait to see what they have lined up for us next. (Psst I think it involves earthy coloured stripes and rusty gingham prints. Follow them on Instagram for updates.)
Design Vintage UK
Design Vintage UK is one of my favourite English brands for original vintage furniture and contemporary home décor. Their nearest store to me is in Guildford and it’s filled to the brim with interior design inspiration.
If you’re looking for a Studio McGee-esque black glazed display cabinet or vintage elm console table, this is the place to find it in the UK. I’m obsessed with their oversized pendant lights, stoneware vases and assorted baskets too.
Looking for affordable XL art? Find out how I print my own here.
Charles Ted Interiors
If you want to achieve a Studio McGee style shelfie, Charles Ted is the name to know in the UK. When I’m looking for a statement lamp, decorative bowl or travel-inspired trinket to fill a hole on a console, I go to the Charles Ted website.
Charles Ted also have a well curated selection of furniture that give off rustic Hamptons vibes. I own their Whistler Rustic Coffee Table* and it’s genuinely one of the most complimented pieces of furniture in our home.

Mali Homeware
Mali Homeware are a small business who focus on decor for modern rustic and transitional interiors. Their range of homewares feature all the earthy tones, natural textures and eye-catching silhouettes you’re likely to see in a Studio McGee interior, and they have the most beautiful linen blend cushions too. (Check out Vera, she’s one of my favourites!)
Pictured above are two of my favourites items from their collection – the Juno Vase and Textured Planter. (Very Amber Interiors).
A few other small businesses I’ve discovered on Instagram who nail the modern rustic homewares are:
Maisons Du Monde
Maisons Du Monde is another website I like to scout for hidden gems. While a French brand, Maisons is very much influenced by home decor styles from all around the world so it has a very global feel to its products.
I find them great for large piece of furniture – a rustic sideboard, a statement side table, a rattan armchair that makes everyone wonder where you got it – and their prices are really reasonable. I also love that a lot of their items are in stock, as opposed to available for delivery next century!
We have the Cavaillon Paulownia Sideboard in our living room and it came swiftly, fully assembled and without any issues. (And lord knows that’s a rare occurrence in our house!)
Amara
Amara is a UK online retailer offering some of the world’s most luxurious brands all in one place. It’s my go-to when I’m looking for something Scandi as it stocks well-known brands including Ferm Living, House Doctor and Bloomingville.
Their collection of round coffee tables is A++ as is their collection of coffee table books. Oh, and bonus, delivery is free if you spend over £50.
Overstock
I currently spend an unhealthy amount of time scouting for items on Overstock, a US discount homewares site that offers UK delivery. There are a huge number of US brands available on this site, but I find the rugs and lighting sections, in particular, have lots of styles you’re likely to see in a Studio McGee designed home.
To make your search easier you can filter by style categories including transitional, farmhouse and rustic. (All my favourite words!) The shipping costs seem fairly reasonable (I got a quote for a wall light that was £11) but bear in mind duty and tax are added at check out.

House & Habitat
My go-to store for Studio McGee style cushion covers in the UK is House & Habitat. Not only does this Edinburgh-based small business sell drool-worthy combos of linen cushions in muted patterns and farmhouse stripes, but the quality is so impressive, especially for this price point.
I’ve acquired 6 of Claire’s creations in the last few months and, believe me, I’d have bought more if we hadn’t already run out of places to put them!
I read that Shea McGee tends to use a pattern, a plain and a stripe in each of her cushion groupings and as House & Habitat offer a range of sizes for each cover you can play around with shapes and sizes until you get a look that works for you.
Shop some of my favourite cushion covers and inserts here.
Juniper Print Store & Collection Prints
I’ve written all about where to buy vintage art prints online (and how to get them printed in the UK) so I won’t go into too much detail here, except to say if you love the muted vintage style art often seem in Studio McGee interiors you should familiarise yourself with the names Juniper Print Store, Collection Prints and North Prints on Etsy.
All 3 offer beautiful, affordable digital art that you can download and have giclee art printed at The Print Space. (Use code 9Q35VO3 for up to 50% off your first order.)
Nkuku
Nkuku work with artisans around the world with a focus on ethical, eco-friendly and handmade items that are both beautiful and sustainable. I love their distinctive lamps and lighting and if I ever want something to add a pop of brass this is the brand I turn to.
We might have to plan a trip to Devon this summer just to visit the Nkuku lifestyle store & café. I mean, look at it!
Neptune
And finally, one of my favourite places to shop in person is Neptune because they have absolutely nailed the homewares retail experience. My nearest store is Neptune Reading, a restored 17th-century gate lodge, which has been turned into my dream home with a series of beautifully styled rooms that successfully convince the browser they need to buy everything in it. (Not just me, is it?!)
While I would describe their furniture as more classically British than the pieces used by Studio McGee, their accessories have just the right touch of rustic, which makes them both timeless and contemporary. Their (huge) ceramic vases make quite a statement, especially if paired with their sculptural faux stems and greenery. These days, you’d be hard-pressed to find a picture on my grid that doesn’t have a Neptune vase in it!
So that’s my huge Studio McGee style homewares edit for UK shoppers. Follow my home account on Instagram for lots more ideas and links and shop our home via my LTK.

Many thanks
